Yvonne Morgan-Franklin

I know firsthand what it is like to beat the odds. Born and raised amongst chaos and dysfunction for many years did not prevent me from reaching my goals. I managed to graduate from Moreno Valley High School in 1997 with little to no parental supervision. After learning that employment without education leads to desolation, I decided to return to school. In 2007, I completed my Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts from San Bernardino Valley College. In the same year, I began employment with the Probation Department as a correctional officer where I came into direct contact with many troubled youth of the community. In 2010, I transferred to the Transitional Assistance Department where I work with mostly women who are trying to attain self-sufficiency. I stayed focused on my education which paid off in 2012 when I graduated from California State University of San Bernardino with a BA in psychology.  Completing this degree has allowed me the opportunity to develop a curriculum for women from diverse cultures which enables them to recognize detrimental behaviors and discover positive behaviors that increase the likelihood of reaching self-sufficiency...
